Die spreker tydens die geleentheid is ’n bekende inwoner en professionele geoloog van Thabazimbi, Heinrich Müller, tans die hoof operasionele beampte van Jangada Mines, ’n natuurlike hulpbron maatskappy wat op die Londense aandelebeurs genoteur is. Jangada Mines is tans besig met die grootste platinum projek in Suid-Amerika.
Heinrich is was sedert 2011 tot 2017 werksaam by Anglo American Platinum. Tydens hierdie tydperk was hy gedurende 2012 tot 2015 Besturende Direkteur van die firma se gesamentlike projek met Pedra Branca in Brazilië.
Hierbenewens was hy ongeveer vier jaar tydens die tyd by die Amandelbult mynkompleks by eksplorasie betrokke asook by die verbetering van operasionele doelwitte.
Heinrich is ook die stigter en direkteur van Geminas Consulting, ’n myn- en geowetenskaplike bystands- en tegniese konsulterende-firma.
Heinrich het sy B.Sc.(Hons) graad in Toegepaste Geologie aan die Universiteit van Stellenbosch verwerf en is ook lid van beide die Geologiese Vereniging van Suid-Afrika en die Prospekteerders en die Ontwikkellaars Vereniging van Kanada.
Future of Mining in Thabazimbi: A Professional View at Network session
The future of mining in Thabazimbi will be scrutinized at the next network session of the Thabazimbi Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday 17 April which will be at 07:00 at Pondok.
The topic of the discussion will be: Mining in Thabazimbi – Can there be a prosperous future?
The speaker at the session is a well known Thabazimbi resident, Heinrich Müller, Chief Operating Officer of Jangada Mines, a London-listed natural resources company developing the largest platinum project in South America.
From 2011 to early 2017, Heinrich was employed by Anglo American Platinum, which included, between 2012 and 2015, time as the Managing Director of its Pedra Branca Joint Venture in Brazil.
He also spent almost four years working at the Amandelbult mining complex in South Africa, where he was involved with on-mine exploration, as well as introducing operational efficiencies. He is also the founder and director of Geminas Consulting, a mining and geosciences advisory and technical consultancy.
Heinrich holds a B.Sc. (Hons) in Applied Geology from Stellenbosch University and is a member of both the Geological Society of South Africa and the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.
