Dagga found in Koedoeskop

KOEDOESKOP – Members from SAPS Thabazimbi were conducting Crime Prevention Operations in the Koedoeskop area on Friday 25 November 2011.

They entered an informal settlement at one of the farms with the intent to raid one of the illegal liquor outlets.

Upon arrival at the illegal liquor outlet, they noticed dagga plants that were planted between mealies next to a shack.

The owner of the house was traced and instructed to open the house. While searching the house the members found a 20 liter plastic drum filled with dagga.

The SAPS confiscated the drum with dagga, as well as the dagga plants. The owner of the house was arrested for possession of dagga. The total weight of the dagga is 26 kilograms with an estimated street value of around R26 000. The suspect appeared before court on 28 November at Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court and the case was postponed to 30 January 2012.

The dagga and dagga plants with a street value of R26 000, was confiscated by SAPS Thabazimbi on Friday 25 November.
