Short story competition

THABAZIMBI – Science Fiction/Fantasy South Africa is running its national short story competition once again. This is known as the “Nova Short Story Competition”.
This annual competition, now in its 27th year, encourages writing in the science fiction and fantasy field and promotes local talent. This year sees a double competition where stories will be judged as either “General” or “South African” in theme or backdrop.
Prizes in the South African section are R750 for the 1st prize, R500 for the 2nd prize and R250 for the 3rd prize. In the General section prizes are R500 for the 1st prize, R300 for the 2nd prize and R200 for the 3rd prize. A special prize for under 18’s will also be awarded if enough entries of a suitable quality are received.
