Another Robbery at a Chinese Shop
THABAZIMBI – On Thursday 25 February 2010 at about 07:30 the Chinese Shop situated at the Medhof/Josua Doore Parking Area in Thabazimbi was targeted to be robbed. According to the victims, three African Males, of which two were armed with fire-arms entered the shop and held the victims at gunpoint. The victims were bounded by the suspects as they attempted to take an undisclosed amount of money. An independent eye witness who saw the suspects entering the shop, immediately contacted the Police. On the arrival of the Police, the suspects were cornered inside the shop and they surrendered. The two fire-arms and cash was seized and all three the suspects were arrested. The suspects’ vehicle which was supposed to be used by the suspects was also seized by the Police. The suspects were arrested and a case of Armed Robbery was opened and is being investigated by Thabazimbi SAPS. Both fire-arms tested positive as being used in previous offences. The suspects’ next court appearance will be on 8 March 2010.

Man stabbed with knife at Jabulani
KOEDOESKOP – On 27 February 2010 at about 03:00 an African male, aged 27 passed away at Jabulani Informal Settlement close to Koedoeskop. According to information the victim and suspect were visiting each other when an argument ensued whereupon the suspect stabbed the victim with a knife in the upper torso. The victim passed away at the scene. The suspect was arrested and a case of Murder is being investigated by SAPS Thabazimbi. The suspect’s next court appearance will be on 11 March 2010.

Man burns to death in his home
REGOROGILE – On Sunday 28 February 2010 during the early hours of the morning a 53 year old male burnt to death in his home at Regorogile. The victims’ nephew heard screams coming from the victims home and ran to see what all the commotion was about. Upon arrival the nephew found the victim burning. He extinguished the fire, but the victim’s injuries was too severe and he passed away at the scene. An inquest docket was opened which is being investigated by SAPS Thabazimbi.
