Tragic accident claims life

THABAZIMBI – A young entrepreneur form Thabazimbi who ran a successful boat charter business in Sodwana Bay, Jay Jonathan de Klerk (21 years) was killed in a tragic motor vehicle accident on the Thabazimbi – Brits road on Friday 6 February 2009. He was alone in the vehicle. Jay was born in Johannesburg and moved with the family to the Bushveld when he was 3 months old. He grew up in the Cumberland district on the game farm Buffelskraal with his mum and dad, owners of  J&B Jewellers in Thabazimbi and his two sisters, Bianca and Lara. He attended Thabazimbi Primary School and went to Frikkie Meyer High School. After school he left for Sodwana Bay where he completed his skippers licence, bought a boat and started his own business called Skipjack Charters. He had found himself and his deep passion for the sea. His skill as a skipper was well known. He was truly happy while on the ocean on his boat. He lived his life to the full, was fiercely loyal to his friends and loved, adored and protected his family. He will always be remembered by his radiant smile, the wicked twinkle in his eye and his passion for life. He will be sadly missed by his mother Bee, sisters Bianca and Lara and all his family and friends. The funeral is today, Friday 13 February at 11:00 from the NG Kerk Thabazimbi. The burial will be at the Thabazimbi cemetery.
