The talented group from Leeupoort are once again hosting their annual Cabaret Show featuring 13 ladies and 5 men. This sensational performance includes comedy, song and dance. Cabaret as a form of art is a production distinguished mainly by the particular performance venue such as restaurants and nightclubs and nothing new as a form of entertainment. Civilizations as early as the ancient Greeks and Egyptians held forms of plays and theatre similar to this.
With song and dance the Bushveld Babes spread love, warmth and in the process give to the needy. One of the features of the Bushveld Babes Cabaret show is that the proceeds of the production are invested in the local community. In the past few years funds were donated to support under privileged kids, adults in need of medical assistance and community actions.
The first Bushveld Babes Cabaret performance was hosted in 2005 and as before, this year’s production promises to be a spectacle to remember. You cannot afford not to see this Cabaret show. Die plaaslike “Bushveld Babes” groep van Leeupoort bied vanjaar weer ‘n sensasionele Kabaret vertoning op 27 April aan. Vanjaar is die negende produksie van die groep wat in 2005 vir die eerste keer opgetree het. Vanwee die groot byval wat die vertoning by die algemene publiek ontlok het, is hul versoek om elke jaar ‘n produksie op die planke te bring. Hierdie talentvolle groep bestaande uit dames en mans, lewer ‘n uitmuntende vertoning wat komedie, sang en dans insluit. Tydens die optrede bly die groep in noue kontak met hulle gehoor wat gewoonlik ietsie te ete en drinke geniet.
Kabaret is vandag ‘n bekende vorm van vermaak. Interessant is om te lees dat vanaf die vroegste tye het die antieke Egiptenare en Grieke soortgelyke tipe van produksies op die planke gehad.
Soos in die geval van vorige jare word die opbrengs van die produksie teruggeploeg in die gemeenskap. Vanjaar se liefdadigheidskenking gaan aan die Leeupoort Biblioteek.
