First Manager’s Sports Day highly successful

AMANDELBULT – Amandelbult Golf Club hosted their first Manager’s Sports day for the year, on Friday 23 May. The event sparked an atmosphere of fun and laughter amongst colleges who work closely under pressure, but also need some time to social and relax. The day was perfect for an out door gathering, as the ground had been tended to with prestige care, by Turftek personnel
Hosted by Dave Campher, who was standing in for Anton van Wyk as Production Manager – Central, the day jump started at 12:00 and was met with enthusiasm as JJ Joubert (President of the Sport Club) announced the teams at the T- boxes.
Harry Bense, took the reigns putting the golf teams. The game was American scramble with golfers and non-golfers together. Ferdie Jansen was tasked with the bowls while Anema Denton, Wikus Stemmet and Isebel Fouché, ensured that the taste buds were satisfied with the excellent preparation of three sheep on spit braaiers and sides dishes, much to the guests delight.
With the help from all the personnel under Michael Lentswe’s banner at the Rec Club, the catering ran smoothly into the late evening hours.
Prizes as well as “boobie” prizes added to the excitement of the day, as the General Manager, Mark Farren handed out to winners, also not forgetting the players who were winners in their own “special” ways. The evening was rounded off with a live performance by the band, Strange Dayz.
Many thanks to those who assisted in coordinating a much anticipated sporting event. A special thanks goes out to ALL the sponsors as well as to those who participated. A day worth to remeber.
