THABAZIMBI – Thaba Park saw two wonderful soccer matches last Saturday. Thabang Youth Centre incorporating boys from Smash Block played against teams from the Ysterberg Primary School and the Ysterberg Soccer Club.
The two U17 teams (Thabang vs.Ysterberg Club ) turned out to match each other perfectly. Goals were shot galore under the blistering sun of Thabazimbi, and each score seemed to motivate the boys even more. The hard but fair game came up with some beautiful tackle scenes. In the end Thabang emerged with a well-earned 7-6. The Ysterberg fighters took it sportsmanlike. They enjoyed the encounter so much that they wanted a return match the following week.
The younger boys’ match (Thabang vs.Ysterberg Primary) ended with a draw (2-2). The well trained school team of Ysterberg Primary played good soccer, and it was no easy walk for Thabang’s boys. Here, too, it was great fun and motivation for all participants on the field.
