Principal resigned – Mabogopedi High performs worst in circuit

REGOROGILE – The 2014 school year got off to a smooth start on Wednesday, 15 January 2014 after which the Mayor and her entourage visited Mabogopedi High school on Thursday 16 January as part of the back to school campaign.

She was accompanied by councillors, officials from the municipality and Northam constituency office. During the visit the Thabazimbi circuit Manager, Mr MP Molapisi presented the analised Thabazimbi circuit matric results.

During his presentation he indicated that the principal of Mabogopedi has tendered his resignation. The school is the worst performing in the Thabazimbi Municipality and circuit. The school obtained one distinction in English and dropped from 54% in 2012 to 38.2% during 2013 school year.

The circuit Manager said that there are many challenges that need to be attended to at Mabogopedi. The school failed to perform as per their vision and mission. During 2013 winter enrichment camp, the school didn’t attend as expected. A very few number of learners and educators participated in the process. While he gave his presentation, more than half of the learners were spotted outside of the premises, giving the impression that the learners lack discipline and devotion to their school work.
