Conference for hunters and game ranchers on impact of assault on game farms

A conference is to be held for hunters and game ranchers on the assault by the government on game ranches and the potential impact on hunting opportunities and the conservation of biodiversity.

The conference will take place on Friday, 30 April 2010 during the 2010 Wild Expo, which runs from 30 April to 2 May at the Tshwane Events Centre.

The Confederation of Hunting Associations of South Africa (CHASA) in co-operation with SA Hunters and Game Conservation (SAGC) and the organisers of the Wild Expo have decided on this timely action in support of game ranchers.

Among the well-known role-players in agriculture and the hunting industry who will act as speakers are:

  • Dr Theo de Jager, Agri SA Vice President
  • Prof Pieter van Niekerk, CHASA Chair
  • Fred Camphor – SAGC Deputy President
  • Prof Peet van der Merwe – Institute for Tourism and Leisure studies, North-West University

The conference will be held on the terrain of the Wild Expo at the Tshwane Events Centre.

Registration starts at 09:00 and the conference at 10:00 on 30 April.
