First Stimulation centre in Thabazimbi for disabled persons

THABAZIMBI – Thabazimbi Social Work Services, Thusano Community Development Forum in conjunction with Thabazimbi Municipality held a meeting in preparations to open a Stimulation Centre.

Mayor PA Mosito, Cllr MD Tlhabadira, Speaker SG Matsietsa, Mrs Erika Van Dorssen, Ms RG Temane as well as officials from Social Work Services Thabazimbi attended the meeting.

Thabazimbi Social Works Services recruited caregivers and encouraged them to establish a Stimulation Centre. Stimulation is a Day Care facility to:

Provide services to children with developmental disabilities that hinder them to attend normal school and to function normally and to provide support to families through support groups, parent education and attending to needs of those who are medically fragile.

Thabazimbi Social Work section requested assistance from Thusano Community Development Forum, which ultimately donated educational toys to the centre. The chairperson of the Forum, Mrs Erika Van Dorssen extended her hands together with her team.

The forum also donated knitting to Tlhogotshweu and Itsoseng Batsofe Service Centre. All NGO’s are supported and monitored by Social Work Services in Thabazimbi.
