‘Willebeesfees’

The evening was lit with colourful lights and gave the grounds a relaxed feel to it. Next years ‘Willebeesfees’ will be just as good and better.

NORTHAM – It was a wonderful spring day on Saturday the 19th September; we witnessed the community joining together at the ‘Willebeesfees 2015’ to have fun, fun and more fun. The weather played along and gave us a beautiful sunny day that had many people descending on Angasii Game Lodge for the ‘Willebeesfees 2015’. It was well attended with a festive atmosphere kicked off by the parading of ‘Mej en Mnr Willebeesfees’ organized by Talita Erasmus from Platinum Ads. The ‘Willebeesfees Team Challenge’ organized by Geraldine Breedt in collaboration with Thaba Boeg en Hengel culminating in the Tug-o-War in the afternoon (‘Willebeesfees Team Challenge’ Winners were, Ross; Callie; Pierre; Juandré). And DJ Ossewa’s antics in the evening getting us tapping our toes and swinging our hips. We won’t of course mention the rugby even though it was viewed on a giant screen.
The ‘Specialised Tracking & Tactical Unit’ showed what it really means to keep our Rhino safe with their display of what they do on a tracking mission. Another interesting event was the talk on snakes by ‘Chameleon Village’ snake experts. Sharing with us the amazing world of snakes and encouraging us to get over our fears. They are God’s creatures after all. There was a guest appearance by SA Rugby squad member Ivann Espag and friends doing a rugby Clinic with the children along with all the other activities in the ‘Willebeesfees Play Park’, the children were well entertained all day.
Sieg Smit had us putting our hands in our pockets to buy all manner of amazing things including Nyala Bulls; Zebra Skin; DIY Equipment; etc etc etc… on the Auction that ran throughout the event. With a final raffle of an R18’000.00 Hunt at Angasii Game Lodge. There where also many Stalls to tempt us further with interesting goods on sale. ‘Bush Bugz Grub’ kept us all well fed with their amazing braai’ed food and I can personally highly recommend their sosaties. Perfectly matched with various stalls selling drinks and puddings.
This event was created by the ‘Bush Bugz @ Angasii’ Pre-Primary School to further spread their vision of Nature & Nurture meeting to create the very best education environment for our children. We look forward to what the team at ‘Bush Bugz’ plans for next years ‘Willebeesfees 2016’.
