THABAZIMBI – A 25 year old woman reported a rape case after she was allegedly raped by a unknown man while walking from Regorogile to her place of residence at Ga-Botha informal settlement when she was approached by an unknown man.
The woman alleges that she was walking with her boyfriend from Regorogile on Sunday morning of 12 April 2015 at about 02:00. The boyfriend then started walked faster leaving her behind to walk alone. It was then that she was approached by the unknown man who was holding an iron rod whom threatened to assault her with the rod, should she scream for help. The suspect then raped the complainant and ran away.
A Case docket was opened and the suspect is still at large. The case is being investigated by Thabazimbi FCS Unit Warrant Officer DJ Lotter and anyone with information can contact him on 071 3550 578
Constable Moshira Modise of Social Crime Prevention Unit made a call on the community to avoid walking alone at night, especially walking across the bushed areas or at quiet areas as the criminals are always waiting for the opportunity to commit crimes like this.
