Five suspects arrested for armed robbery

Polokwane – Five suspects allegedly responsible for an armed robbery on a cash and carry on the road between Louis Trichardt and Musina late on Sunday afternoon, were arrested on the N1 when detectives spotted the suspicious vehicle they were driving in.
The armed robbery took place during the afternoon at the cash and carry at Wyliespoort where two security guards were robbed of their cell phones and fire-arms before they fled. Early on Monday morning members of the detectives from Makhado Police Station saw the suspicious vehicle driving on the N1 and stopped and surrounded the vehicle at a four way stop.
The five suspects inside were arrested and members recovered ten cell phones as well as two fire-arms. Further investigations revealed that one of the suspects is a member of the SAPS, attached to the Protection and Security Services in Pretoria. Investigations to link the suspects to more incidents of crime are also continuing.
The suspects are due to appear in the Louis Trichardt Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
