Thabazimbi Spar Soccer league to an end

THABAZIMBI – The 25/10/2014 marked a milestone for the Thaba Superspar league as it came to a close for the year 2014 season. It didn’t happen without any excitement though as there were two cup finals played and an award ceremony that took place after the games. The two finals that were played were the Thaba Superspar cup which saw the Thaba Superspar team beat the TBZ Municipality team 2-1 to win their first trophy since the start of this prestigious corporate league. The other final was the Tops 8 match whereby Shoprite also won their first ever trophy in this league, they beat Marakele 5-4 on penalties.
The event was well supported by the Thaba community which brought extra fun on the day. The day continued to the awards ceremony which was graced by the presence of the Thabazimbi councillors, councilor Ester Semadi and councillor Rachel Mokoena and Mr Semadi, the league sponsor and the Thaba Superspa manager Mr. Hannes Coetzee was present as well to award all the teams as per their successes.
The list of awards was as follows: The referees with Pote, Brighton, Alonso, Fly and Baleseng.
The Tops 8 Cup: in third position – Kumba and they won R1000 and Bronze medals. Second position – Marakele and won R2000 and silver medals. In the first position is Shoprite – R3000 and gold medals plus a floating trophy.
For the Thaba Superspar Cup the second place went to TBZ Municipality where they received R1500 and silver medals. And Spar worn the Thaba Superspar Cup and won R2500, gold medals and floating trophy
The Thaba Superspar league 2014:
8th – Health – R700
7th – Ikatiseng – R800
6th – Rosond – R900
5th – Shoprite –R1000
4th – Marakele – R2500
3rd – Spar – R3500 and bronze medals
2nd – Kumba – R4500 and silver medals
1st – TBZ Municipality – 6500, gold medals and a floating trophy.
Hannes, Mr. Semadi and our two councillors awarded the happy team members with all the prizes and honours.

The league will continue where it left off in the coming year 2015, the opening gathering will be on the 9 February 2015 and all who would like to participate are invited.
