THABAZIMBI – In commemoration of the late dr Nelson “Rolihlahla” Mandela, the Bokamoso Victim Empowerment and Thabazimbi SAPS officials did their part at the Botha Informal settlement, giving away nutritious food to the dwellers there on Friday, 18 July.
The food parcels were combined out of Apples, Oranges and bananas and the women received women’s products with their parcels. They gave this to almost 135 needy people and Bokamoso victim empowerment group with the SAPS cleaned the surrounding places of Botha Informal Settlement, with the hope of keeping the area clean.
This group have monthly themed projects, where they cater to the community and where they try to educate the general public of keeping the area clean, or human rights or how to help with abuse.
They give transport to the disabled to and from the events that they host.
Here is a bit more background to the group, they are a non-profit organisation and they provide the following emotional and therapeutic services:
– post physical and metal support
– legal information
– restorative counselling
– capacity building
– human rights awareness
– peer counselling support groups
– gender /boy/ girl / child/ HIV/AIDs issues
to name a few.
