Patric for Matrics

THABAZIMBI – Patric Monaleng is a former student at High School Frikkie Meyer who matriculated in 2008. He started his own Driving Academy and has had a lot of students who obtained their licenses after partaking in driving lessons. In a venture to give back to the community Patric made an agreement high schools in Thabazimbi to sponsor disadvantaged learner’s driving lessons, the fee charged to write a learners license as well as the fee for the driving license to the Grade 12’s of all schools in Thabazimbi.

The department of education is aware of this program and gave them a green light on this project. The main purpose of this program is to render services and training to the schools that qualify and to minimize the need for driving license in our schools.

We have decided to make this project free, since our learners in most of our disadvantaged schools do not pay school fees, so should it be with the driving licenses. Patric for Matrics goes hand in hand with the Life Orientation subject. This is a five year project for each school. The schools that will benefit from this project are; Mabogopedi, Groenvlei, Northam Comprehensive, Naletsana and many others.
