Cable theft causes another power outage

THABAZIMBI – An attempted cable theft in the vicinity of Rooikuilspruit on Monday morning left the entire town without electricity.

This was the second time in two weeks that Thabazimbi has been hit by cable theft.

An exposed cable, where repairs were made two years ago, was the target of the copper cable thieves.

The affected area was Regorogile extension 5, Thabazimbi extensions 8, 10, 17, 35 and 37 and the area of Group Five. The power was fully restored on Monday evening at 20:00.

Thabazimbi Local Municipality appeals to community members to assist local authorities to bring the perpetrators to book. They apologise for any inconveniences caused during the outage.
