Correctional Services, cleaned Thabang’s youth care centre

THABAZIMBI – The Correctional Services department of Thabazimbi, assisted in the cleaning of the entrance of the Thabang Child and youth care centre, on Saturday 8 February.

Seven offenders, who were serving their sentences in the community, were used to help with the cleaning operation. They were assisted by mr Wimpie de Koker, Office Manager of Correctional services, Thabazimbi and mr Cecil White of the Thabang youth care institution.

Various institutions within the Thabazimbi Magisterial District have benefitted from free community services, as a method of paying back to the community for their crimes. Correctional services have donated clothes to the welfare centre, Thabang, and Thabang are still in need of clothes from 3 months up to 18 years, for girls and boys.

In terms of the Correctional Service Act 111 of 1998, nonprofit base organizations (section 21 Companies), can apply for assistance at the Correctional offices.
