No water for Rooiberg

ROOIBERG – While the community of Thabazimbi is struggling with dirty water, citizens in Rooiberg had to endure days without running water.

Community members were without water in December, one of the hottest months in the year, for four days, where after the pump was repaired. Another three days without water followed in January, where after the Thabazimbi Local Municipality repaired the booster pump, only to breakdown on Wednesday, 22 January. The municipality seems to have a huge problem with the pump and citizens are speaking of a petition.

On requesting answers from the municipality for Thabazimbi’s dirty water, the communications department said, ”can you please stop entertaining the complaints by the community and send them to the Municipality offices. We can’t always address community issues through the media. Tell them that our offices are open and they will be assisted. We have in all years addressed and intervene in community issues relating to service delivery.”
