TLM launches arts and culture committee

REGOROGILE – The Thabazimbi Local Municipality launched an Art and Culture Committee 8 December 2013 at Regorogile Multipurpose Sports Centre. This committee is specifically aimed at the youth.

The main objectives of the arts and culture council include mobilising youth organisations to ensure their participation in building and entrenching democracy in South Africa, serve as a legitimate body of representatives for community and youth in all created platforms and lobby and advocate for implementation of arts and culture development programmes by all sectors of society.

“We must think and be able to come up with proposals and decisions that will lead to strengthening the participation of other wards in our municipality and the implementation of policies that are to be put before us,” said Matlou in his acceptance speech.” He further indicated that commitment will be the motto of the committee. The committee is charged with the responsibility of recruiting of more members.
