Local cyclist performs

THABAZIMBI – A local cyclist, Gopolang Cornelius Booysen, is currently making his way up to the best positions in national cycling challenges.

His official results as timed by Racetec are: Durban (48km) Challenge on 8 September 2013: 01:44:19, Kumba Iron Ore Classic (50km) on 21 September 2013: 01:44:59 and Engen Cycle Challenge (52km) on 6 October 2013: 01:34:40.

During the Kumba Iron Ore Classic, which took place in Kathu, Northern Cape, Booysen obtained position 3 overall and 2nd position in the male category. The recent second leg of the Engen Cycling Challenge, was considered to be the most difficult so far, according to Booysen. He came 32nd out of 357 participants. Booysen obtained position 14 out of 261 participants during the first leg of the Engen Cycling Challenge, which took place in Durban. The third and last leg of the Engen Cycling challenge takes place in Paarl, Western Cape on the 10th November, which Booysen hopes to be counted amongst the Top 10. Booysen will end the season with the Momentum 94.7 Cycling Challenge.
