Premier suspends two HOD’s

Limpopo premier, Stanley Mathabatha announced on Monday the suspension of Morebudi Jackson Thamaga as the head of department (HOD) of education, as well as the HOD of CoGHSTA, Nnana Manamela. Both were allegedly implicated in serious corruption charges and could be facing criminal charges.

DA Limpopo Legislature caucus leader Desiree van der Walt welcomed the announcement this week saying: ”These HODs were shielded by the previous premier, Cassel Mathale. The allegations they face range from serious corruption and fraud charges.”

Van der Walt is adamant that Mathale and his director-general, Rachel Molepo-Modipa, should subsequently also face charges for obstructing the course of justice.

“We will be writing to the Hawks in Polokwane to investigate Mathale. He blocked all the investigations that public administration minister, Lindiwe Sisulu initiated against these officials. It was under Cassel Mathale that this took place and he went to great lengths to ensure that these HODs are not investigated,” she added. LiN NEWS/Northern News
