MEC launched Winter school programme

GROENVLEI – The Limpopo MEC for Education, Dickson Masemola has applauded communities and teachers of the Waterberg in particular the Thabazimbi and Dwaalboom circuits for ensuring that pupils attended winter lessons during winter camp.
The pupils, mostly the high schools in the Thabazimbi Municipal District, underwent an enrichment programme at Groeinvlei Winter Enrichment Centre in Thabazimbi. Part of the subjects they received tuition in included accounting, tourism, geography, mathematics and business studies among others.
The educators who participated in the programme have been praised for services rendered. Departmental spokesperson Pat Kgomo said that there are many schools conducting winter lessons. It is worth mentioning even best performing schools such as Mbilwi, Dendron and others were participants in the programme.
The programme started on 30 June 2013 and it ran until 12 July 2013. The Mayor of Thabazimbi, ward councillor, Management of the Department of Education and circuits accompanied the MEC during the visit.
