THABAZIMBI – The good working relations between Thabazimbi Local Municipality and its Stakeholders including the local Churches took an initiative to embark on an outreach programme to churches.

The main purpose was that of establishing a strong and good relationship with faith affiliates organizations in enhancing partnership, which will guide in making sure that the community receives common leadership voice in terms of Moral Regeneration both from the church and from the council.

The Thabazimbi Local Municipality visited IPCC, Uniting Reformed Church and Galelia Apostolic church last Sunday.

“We are all aware of the coming Easter Holidays. Our roads will be full of traveling and visitors from all over the country. Road accidents and fatalities continue depriving us of our children and breadwinners whom we expect to play a major role in supporting their families and building this nation. We continue burying innocent victims of road carnage,” said Mayor Mosito.

“Let us all be responsible and drive according to the rules of the road. Let us all agree that today we are forming a partnership that will take us to the Easter season and beyond,” she continued.

The Mayor was accompanied by councilors, leadership from Alliance structures and officials from the Municipality. Several churches have already been visited and the wrapping of the first phase of the outreach will be to Saint and Lutheran churches on 24 March 2013. All other churches in Thabazimbi Municipality will be visited during the second phase to start in mid-April.
