Successful Fundraiser by Dishaba

Amandelbult – Anglo American’s platinum Mine, Dishaba hosted its annual fundraising Sports day on Saturday, 30 June at the Amandelbult Recreation Club.

142 contenders got up bright and early to take part in Golf, Bowls, Mountain Biking, Angling and Cricket. The sports day was in aid of raising funds for the less fortunate within the local community. A cheque of R 30 000 was handed over to representatives from Thabang by JJ Joubert, General Manager – Dishaba Mine. Thabang Children’s Fund is an organization which takes care of orphans, homeless and vulnerable children. The organization provides a home for the kids and ensures that they go to school, clothed and fed well. It relies on support and sponsorship for their programs and for ensuring that the kids are kept in an environment conducive to proper upbringing.

Winners of the various events were later announced by Luc Vermeulen, Snr Finance Manager – Dishaba Mine as prizes were handed out. All participants and their families were able to enjoy the sounds of a live band “One Dog One Bite” as the day drew to a close.
