THABAZIMBI – Butterland Bakery, Butterland Bakery, trading as Butterfield Bakery, located in Thabazimbi next to Regorogile Extension 2, recently trained 14 unemployed youth in order for them to rise to a better future.
The project receives funds from different stakeholders to operate. Community members are also benefiting from Butterland Bakery. Recently, the bakery has trained 14 unemployed youth in the following areas: bread, cakes, scones, doughnuts, ginger biscuits, pizzas, vetkoeks, chicken and cheese russian vetkoeks, tea cakes, mosbolletjies, school buns, raison loaves and chelsea buns. The bakery also produces white and brown bread and confectionery like pizzas.
The training aimed at equipping unemployed youth with baking skills so that they can market their skills to Supermarket and lodges. Others will initiate their own bakery projects.
The Bakery project is supplying its products to local schools, communities and mines within the Municipality District. The project is lead by Project Manager SA Mosetlha, Secretary: Louisa Sefe, Driver: Oupa Mare and bakers: Kabo Phiri and Itumeleng Mothobi.
