Untimely death of a dedicated worker

THABAZIMBI – Thabazimbi Municipality mourns the death of one of the most dedicated and long serving servants, Joseph Mawe, who at the age of 47 passed away very suddenly on Wednesday 30 June. He started to work at what used to be called Thabazimbi Town Council on the 2nd of May 1984 and the name later changed to Thabazimbi Local Municipality. By the time of his death, Mawe was the Divisional Head Solid Waste and Chairperson of local South African Municipal Workers Union (SAMWU). He served as a shop steward for more than 18 years. The Thabazimbi Municipality and the workers want to make use of this opportunity to extend sincere words of condolences to the Mawe family, the entire liberation movement and friends alike. He will be missed for the role he has played as a leader. The funeral will be held on Sunday 11 July 2010 at 06:30 at Regorogile Multi-purpose Centre.
