YFU, a non-profit organization that has been operating for over 50 years invites interested families to host an YFU exchange student, thereby having the chance of getting to know open-minded individuals at the age of 15 to 18 from all over the world.
YFU is one of the largest and most experienced educational organisations having exchanged thousands of young people all over the world. In South Africa, the organisation was founded in 1994. It is mainly driven by volunteers who has supported host families and exchange students before, during and after an exchange.
Hosting one of these students enables you to see your everyday life in a new way and to discover new perspectives. Rynette Scholtz, the Regional Director, always says: “Anyone can take a host student. They just need their own bed, a place to study, some food and lots of love!” YFU pays the school fees and all students have pocket money for school trips and other needs.
The orginasation is welcoming 41 students from all over the world this August that still need a home. They are also looking for interested, open and curious learners between 15 and 17 years that would like to experience another country themselves.
If you are interested in hosting or going on exchange with YFU please contact the regional Director, Rynette Scholtz (phone: 012 5492362; cell: 082 4643957) or visit our web site www.yfu.org.za.
They are looking forward to welcome you in their YFU family.
