5 Cases of theft in 2 days

THABAZIMBI – A game lodge at Spitskop was broken into on Sunday 6 December 2009. Curtains, a laptop, camera, female clothes, etcetera were stolen. Two foreign nationals were arrested by the complainant and later managed to escape. The one suspect’s passport was left behind in the bakkie of the complainant and could be identified as Alexandra Fransisco Mondlane. A case of housebreaking and theft was opened for investigation.

Another housebreaking took place on Monday 7 December 2009 at Donkerhoek. Two foreign nationals entered the house with a firearm and demanded money and firearms. They held the occupants of the house at gun point and took an undisclosed amount of money, a flat screen computer monitor, Panasonic digital camera, Samsung cellphone, Nokia cellphone, Nokia 7 series cellphone, Tempo DVD player and a Tempo.

Three vehicles were broken into on the same day. A car radio, CD’s, 3 wrist watches, carry bags and clothes were stolen. Three cases of theft out of motor vehicles were opened.

An arrest was made on Tuesday 8 December 2009 of a Mozambican national, Isaac Sihlangu who had some of the stolen items and undisclosed amount of money in his possession at the time of the arrest. Forensics could establish that tracks made by the culprits at all three incidents were the same.
