Education, the first step to success

THABAZIMBI – A Matric certificate is the first step to great success, therefore Thabazimbi Municipality took some extra effort by visiting and presenting a motivational talk to all Grade 12 learners from the five High and Secondary Schools within Thabazimbi Municipal area. The five schools visited were, Groenvlei, Mabogo-pedi, Frikkie Meyer, Naletsana and Northam Comprehensive. The visit was led by the Mayor Naledi Matlou, Cllr PA Mosito (Chairperson of Council Committee for Social Services), Mr MD Lottering (Manager Corporate Services for the Municipality), municipal officials and both Circuit Managers, Mr FM Mathebula and Ms SJ Madela of Thabazimbi and Dwaalboom respectively. “Your goals, dream, aspiration and passion should be your top priority”, said Mr Lottering while giving his motivational talk to learners. He further emphasized that each and every learner is the cause and creator to his/her unique future. Self-discipline and effective time management is a function of your independent will. “You will always reap what you sow. You are future leaders of this country, you are a generation that will design and invent solution to South Africa and to the world at large,” those were some of the motivational words to learners. In conclusion the Mayor made some assurance to learners that the municipality, community at large and family members will always be with them with prayers during this period of exams. He further handed best wish card messages to all school principals, containing the words: “As you prepare for Matric Examinations 2009, I urge you to study with zeal and dedication. We wish you all success in your exams knowing that the skills you will acquire in future will ensure that you can contribute in the future growth and development of the country and the world. We further urge parents and educators to offer maximum support to you all during this period. Working Together We Can Do More. May God bless you.”
