THABAZIMBI – A prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (HIV/AIDS) infection awareness campaign will be hosted in Thabazimbi Municipality District in Smash-block/Chromite on 6 October 2009.
The campaign will be supported by Thabazimbi local partners Kumba Iron Ore and Anglo Platinum Mine together with the Department of Health and Social Development National, Provincial and District level.
The idea behind it is the strategies available for the reduction of maternal and prenatal mortality rates exacerbated by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
The presence of the MEC for Health and Social Development the honorable mrs Merriam Sekgabutle will also be present during this awareness campaign.
Other services that will be available are the Department of Home Affairs and the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) for assisting in Social grants.
