Kumba donates computers to HFM
THABAZIMBI – Computers… the Internet…Encarta – all part of the world experienced today by the modern, newfangled school learner.
To teach in the today’s modern world is becoming an increasingly more demanding task. Outcome-based education poses an unbelievable challenge to both the teacher and the learner – the teacher not only has to master the technological environment but also has to devise ways and means to make inroads on the attention span of the learners and to continue challenging their unwavering interest.
It is a pity that, with the technology available today which can easily open new worlds to learners, there are still schools which simply do not have the monetary means at their disposal to provide in this need. To overcome this gap in its weaponry the Natural Sciences Department of the Frikkie Meyer High School approached Kumba Iron Ore with a request to step into the breach.
Kumba Iron Ore was a sympathetic listener and agreed to have an open hand. It is a wonderful privilege for the Natural Sciences Department of the Frikkie Meyer High School to express its heartfelt appreciation to especially Mr Sibusiso Tenza and his team for the wonderful donation to the school of four computers, a printer and a projector.
This is indeed a tremendous contribution which will have a far-reaching influence on the children in the Natural Science classes; our teaching abilities have been provided with new horizons. The department thanks Kumba for investing in their youth.
