Thieves nabbed after burglary at lodges
THABAZIMBI – Three thieves, linked to several burglaries at lodges and farms along the Klipgat road, were arrested on Saturday 27 June on the Brits road.
At about 03:00am on Saturday the Thabazimbi police arrested three thieves on their way to Brits, near Koedoeskop, loading stolen items into a red Toyota Tazz. The police’s Rapid Response vehicle managed to corner the suspects and arrested them for possession of suspected stolen property.
At about 07:00 on the same day three cases of housebreaking and theft and one of theft were reported at Palanca Lodge, Zandrivierspruit Lodge, Modumela Lodge and Vlakfontein Farm. Earlier on Friday 26 June a case of housebreaking was also reported at Marula Game Lodge.
The three suspects who were arrested on the Koedoeskop road on Saturday morning are all linked to the burglaries which were reported, on account of the stolen articles found in their possession.
Items found ranged from a plasma TV, clothes, knives, a camera, money and various other goods. One suspect is a Nigerian citizen of 30 years and the other two are Zimbabwean citizens aged 33 and 29 years respectively.
The three suspects appeared in court in Thabazimbi on Monday 29 June and were remanded in custody.
