Makalali Private Game Lodge has constructed a 73(seventy-three) metre long swing bridge linking camps separated by the Makhutswi River.  This impressive construction not only serves as a short-cut but as a very intelligent viewing point of the animals drinking from the river.
Whist under construction a heard of elephant approached the bridge, but being cautious mammals they navigated themselves around the structure instead of passing underneath it.  In time they will become familiar with the structure and pass directly below – what a sight that will be!
Guests may now experience the beautiful view and the tranquil feeling of being exposed on foot, yet safe within nature.  It is presumed by the bridge construction team, that the Makalali bridge may well be the longest swing bridge in the Southern Hemisphere that has the ability to support a utility vehicle, such as quad bikes or future golf carts.
