Criminal on the run

ROOIBERG – A wanted criminal who has been troubling the Rooiberg community for more than a year, Lucas Phale, is still at large.
Lucas, a 28 year old man, who also goes by the names Beeline, Snoocker or Tonko, has committed numerous house robberies.
On 13 January 2009 at 06:00, Lucas broke into a house at Kromdraai. His firearm jammed when he shot at the house owner, and the victim defended himself with a revolver loaded with shotgun ammunition. Lucas sustained wounds from the pellets and fled the scene immediately. The victim informed the police and investigation commenced whereafter Lucas’ blood was found at the crime scene. The investigation lead the police to the suspect’s girlfriend’s house at Slaagboom, but when authorities arrived at 12:00, the suspect escaped to the bushes, leaving behind his firearm and blood stained clothes.
No one has seen him since. The Rooiberg police requests the community to contact them with information leading to the arrest of Lucas Phale on 014 734 1602 or 1651. The investigating officer, Inspector Maluleka can also be contacted on 082 414 2404.
