Theft at Koedoeskop Garage
The police is looking for information about a theft which took place at Koedoeskop Garage last week.
Apparently an employee at Koedoeskop Garage had left her office and when she returned a laptop, cellphone, cash, cheque book and bank cards were stolen. Nobody was seen at the scene.
The police is appealing to anybody with information to contact them.

Operation Smackdown
On the last Friday and Saturday of August Operation Smackdown was conducted at Jabulani Informal Settlement.
Sixty police officers were involved in this operation. Two people were arrested for dealing in liquor, two for possession of dagga and one for drinking in public. They were all fined.
The next day a man was found dead at Jabulani. No foul play was suspected, since the deceased suffered from epilepsy.

Murder charge
A case of murder is investigated after two males, both employees at the farm Grootkuil of Mr Riekert in the Koedoeskop area, fought over R70.
A Zimbabwean man killed a South African man after an argument over money. The deceased was hit with bricks on the head. At this stage the injured man was taken to the Thabazimbi Hospital, where he passed away.

Illegal immigrants and crime
In a procedural crime prevention search at the Pick’n Pay complex on Friday 29 August at 05:00, a number of undocumented foreigners were arrested by die police.
According to the police there are still locals who employ illegal immigrants and they appeal to them to stop this practice, because it is punishable by law. In a police report it stated that statistics show that undocumented foreigners are frequently involved in criminal activities in the area.

Vehicles stolen at Bosveld-Oord
In three cases of theft four vehicles have been stolen from Bosveld-Oord old age home.
The last vehicle was stolen on Saturday 30 August. According to a police report the fence was cut back to get the vehicle out of the premises. Apparently the same modus operandi was used in the three thefts.
The police appeals to anybody with information about the stolen vehicles, to come forward.
The police has also warned all vehicle owners to park their vehicles in their yards and to keep the doors locked and windows closed. The police has also said to be on the look out for strangers roaming the streets.

Man killed in CBD by police
A burglar caught in the act of burgling a business in Thabazimbi business centre was shot dead by the police on Saturday 30 August.
Upon entering the police ordered the burglar to hand himself over, but he did not comply. Later the burglar was spotted with an unknown object in his hands in a dark corner. When he tried to attack the police he was shot dead.
Two cases of housebreaking and a murder docket was opened. The police is still investigating.

Copper cable thieves now armed
In the most recent case of copper cable theft, the perpetrators opened fire on the owner of the farm when he investigated the burglary.
A farmer in the Kaaldraai region was notified of the possibility of cable theft by an alarm on his cell phone. He went straight to the scene on foot and saw two people cutting copper wires from the electric pump. He switched the torch on them at which point they started shooting at him. He returned fire, but they managed to escape.
A case of theft and attempted murder was opened and is still under investigation.
