“DE WILDT” Cheetah educational demonstration during the Thabazimbi Expo

“Destroyed buildings can be rebuilt, destroyed works of art may possibly be replaced by new creations, but every animal and every flower which becomes extinct is lost forever in the most absolute of all deaths”(Quote by Joseph Wood Krutch)
Mrs. Marilyn Hull and Byron, the cheetah will be visiting the Thabazimbi Game & Tourism Expo from the 1st to the 3rd of May. During their visits the public will be provided the opportunity to buy a ticket for merely R20 per person and come and learn more about the DE WILDT Cheetah and Wildlife trust.  There is also the possibility of seeing Byron, the cheetah at the event in the case that he feels secure, relaxed and not threatened.
As many of us know the cheetah is the fastest animal on land, reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h and although it has the ability to outrun man, it is fast losing the race against extinction.
The Outreach Education Programme of the DE WILDT Cheetah and Wildlife Trust was started in 2003 with the aim to educate and create awareness regarding the challenges that cheetah face in South Africa.  A fully trained ambassador cheetah named Byron accompanies handler and presenter Marilyn Hull during these outreach education visits.
The presentations will take place on the 1st and 2nd of May at 14:00 and from 13:00 on the 3rd.  Tickets can be bought on the day of the presentation at the entrance of the marquee tent on the terrain. A maximum of 100 people can be accommodated during the presentation so ensure that you arrive in time to learn more about these magnificent animals.
Needless to say, when Byron strides into a room full of people, head up, focused and proud, odds are that there is not a single learner who doesn’t gasp in amazement.
