Stolen cattle found in Northam

NORTHAM – Seventy-eight head of stolen cattle, worth approximately R300 000, were recovered near Northam on Monday.The cattle were stolen on 2 February in the Madikwe area in the North West province. On Monday 17 February inspector Van Wyk of the Modimolle Stock Theft Unit followed up information received and recovered the 78 cattle in the Pony farming area near Northam.
Members of the Phokeng Stock Theft Unit identified the cattle as those which were stolen in the Madikwe area. No arrests have yet been made.
The Police are warning members of the community not to buy cattle randomly from unknown and suspicious looking dealers. If someone is in doubt about the history of  cattle they want to buy, the nearest police station or local Stock Theft Unit should be contacted.
