THABAZIMBI – The first two friendly soccer matches between Thabang Children’s Project and Naletsana Secondary School turned out to be a wonderful and remarkable event for all participants. The host, Naletsana, beat their guests by 4:2 and 4:1.
The weather was great and so was the sportsmanship of the four teams – under 15 and under 17 – on the Naletsana School playground in Koedoeskop last Saturday. All boys showed dedication to their sport and put a lot into the game. Thabang was well received and catered for by Naletsana. Now it’s for Thabang to host the return match.
As part of its youth program in Smash Block, Thababang promotes soccer in the settlement and offers regular training to any interested boy under 18 years from the community. The German Bundesliga Club Hertha BSC from Berlin supports Thabang’s youth program amongst others by supplying balls and blue-and-white striped Hertha-jerseys.
