Ysterberg Primary full to the brim

THABAZIMBI – Ysterberg Primary School, with four classes in each grade, added about 160 new Gr 1’s to their attendance list in 2008. Ysterberg, the only seTswana primary school in Thabazimbi town, under leadership of principal LJ Mpshane, has approximately 1200 learners annually and 32 educators with 27 functioning class rooms. Apart from the academic syllabus, extramural activities such as athletics, music, netball, soccer, traditional dance and drum majorettes is also on offer. The traditional dance and drum majorettes are the pride of the school and often perform at school gatherings. Athletics is the sport that most learners participate in this time of year. Ysterberg’s first event is on 25/26 January when interhouse teams are selected. On February 1st the teams for the circuit level will be selected.
