Fraudent practices by false CANSA volunteers

CANSA has become aware of fraudulent practices conducted by people who call themselves CANSA volunteers within the Waterberg district. There are many people who make false claims of being CANSA volunteers without meeting or fulfilling the requirements of being such:
1. To be a CANSA volunteer, recruitment and selection procedures are followed one should be registered, sign a contract with the organization & be trained and oriented to uphold the values of CANSA. Have proper identification (Name tag issued by CANSA.) Anyone who has not undergone the above is not a CANSA volunteer and should not deceive the public by saying so.
2. Donation Request: Anyone requesting a donation or organizing a fundraising activity for CANSA should produce a recent letter in this regard with original CANSA logo or stamp & monitoring tools. (Documents where the donor & recipient sign)
As CANSA Limpopo we face a great challenge of small organizations not affiliated to CANSA rendering cancer patient care services and therefore competing for resources with the organization, volunteers from such organization should not be confused with our volunteers. And we hope that the image of CANSA will not be affected by actions of such volunteers.
Validate the credibility of volunteers by calling us at (015) 297 1268/9 Or visit your local CANSA office. We have a database of all CANSA volunteers & support groups registered with us.
As CANSA Limpopo we endeavor to assure that public finances are used for purposes meant for. Keep up the good work and be the eye of CANSA. A message to the people of Limpopo support the organization to uphold qualitative CANSA services. Volunteer by sharing your skills, time and resources with us.

Together we can fight cancer.
