Thabazimbi Promotional Soccer League searching for sponsorship

THABAZIMBI – The Thabazimbi Promotional League, which was launched last year at Ipelegeng sports grounds under the auspices of SAFA, is now in dire need of sponsorships.
A few games have kicked off at the beginning of this year but the league is still experiencing problems like referees not being fully qualified, not enough soccer gear for local teams, lack of training grounds, poles, nets and transport.
The league has envisaged the need for a position as sport coordinator from the municipal council. They felt that this position should be created by the Munisipality in order to address the sport needs of the youth in Thabazimbi.
They highlighted the Lekgotla meeting which will be held on 25 to 27 February, by all youth structures of Thabazimbi which will embrace field like art, sport and politics. These meetings will try to resolve all the problems experienced by the youth in the community.
Mr Frans Keoreng (deputy chairperson of the league) said: “This whole process will empower children in our community and will keep them from using alcohol. With the involvement of the whole community we can succeed in our objective”.
Any team is welcome to join the league, especially those from Northam, Northam Platinum and Amandelbult. The joining fee is R500 and a deposit of R250 will be immediately payable. The outstanding R250 is payable later. The closing date for the registration of teams to the league will be on 28 February 2005.
The Thabazimbi Promotional Soccer League fixtures for 2005 is as follows: 19 Februarie – Colchester vs Mmamoloko at 14:00 and Young Rovers vs Town Ship Rollers at 16:00. 26 Februarie – Juventers vs Killers at 14:00 and Bazil vs Young Rovers at 16:00.
The league invites all parties that are interested in assisting in the building of the community to contact Mr Isaac Masepe (treasurer) on 083 332 8104 or Marcus Matshe (secretary) at 082 591 5067.
